In new construction, BUWOG focuses on ecological, economic and social sustainability. Within this framework, the company pursues ambitious climate protection targets. BUWOG’s sustainability agenda extends across its entire new-build business. We promote sustainable mobility concepts and drive energy optimisation as well as the expansion of renewable energies in our new-build projects.

Wherever possible and sensible, the roofs of BUWOG new-build developments are greened. This provides additional habitat for native birds and insects. And more: green roofs can store rainwater and return it to the natural water cycle through evaporation. A positive side effect: pleasant cooling on hot summer days.

At BUWOG, however, sustainability begins even before the cranes start turning: we prioritise resource-efficient and environmentally friendly construction as early as the project planning stage. When selecting building materials, we use the most sustainable or recycled materials possible. This not only secures jobs locally, but also reduces CO2 emissions thanks to shorter delivery routes. In addition, we are gradually increasing our share of timber construction.
